The education sessions will provide information on how to form partnerships to educate nursing students. Free registration on Wednesday is available to all full-time, regular faculty members of schools of nursing. If you are planning to attend Congress for the entire week, Wednesday’s registration fee will be subtracted from the weekly registration fee. Other days are offered at a discounted rate (See registration form).
Forming Partnerships to Educate Nursing Students – Parts 1 and 2 The demand for nurses is expected to continue to grow at 2% to 3% per year, but the supply is expected to diminish as large numbers of nurses retire. At the same time, faculty shortages at nursing schools across the country are limiting student capacity. U.S. nursing schools continue to turn away qualified applicants to entry-level nursing programs due to an insufficient number of faculty, clinical sites, classroom space, clinical preceptors, and budget constraints. Join nursing faculty, deans, clinical educators, managers, and staff nurses in a discussion of leveraging resources by offering perioperative practice settings as clinical sites for nursing students as one strategy to address this emerging crisis.
